MSU finishes 6th on SEC Fall Honor Roll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State placed a total of 47 student-athletes on the 2009 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Friday.

MSU’s 47 honorees are the sixth-most student-athletes on the list, in sports in which State competes. MState placed 22 football players, 16 women’s soccer athletes, and nine women’s volleyball players on the league list.

MSU trailed only South Carolina (59), Georgia (54), Vanderbilt (52), and Alabama and Florida (51) on the list. Ole Miss (38), Tennessee (37), Auburn (34), Arkansas (29), and LSU (27) round out the honor roll in the sports in which Mississippi State competes.
