NOTES: Ole Miss moved its record out to 12-4 with a pair of mid-week wins over Austin Peay and went 1-2 against eighth-ranked Louisville over the weekend … The win over the Cardinals on Saturday handed Louisville its first loss of the season as the Rebels picked up an 8-3 win … Senior RHP Aaron Barrett (4-0) picked up his fourth win over the season as he worked a career-long 6.2 innings and struck out a career-high nine batters … In Friday’s extra-inning loss, junior left-hander Drew Pomeranz struck out 12 batters and allowed one run on three hits in 6.1 innings of work … The 12 strikeouts single-handedly topped the most strikeouts in a game by the Louisville offense this season by 4 – Louisville struck out 8 times against Michigan … Pomeranz and junior RHP Eric Callender combined for 17 strikeouts on the night … For the weekend, the Rebel pitching staff struck out 32 batters …. Louisville had struck out 49 times in the previous 12 games combined … The 12 strikeouts by Pomeranz on Friday night moved him to 245 strikeouts for his career, tied for fifth all-time at Ole Miss with Brett Bukvich … Pomeranz needs 13 strikeouts to move into fourth place ahead of Scott Bittle (257 strikeouts) … Sophomore catch Taylor Hightower led the Rebels at the plate on the week, hitting .438 and going 7-for-16 with three runs scored and three RBI … Juniors Tim Ferguson and Matt Smith also hit well for the Rebels, both hitting three of the Rebels’ four home runs on the week … Ole Miss has now hit 18 home runs on the year with eight different players having hit home runs … In the field, the Rebels have turned 20 double plays this season, having turned seven this past week … Ole Miss returns to action on Tuesday with a single-game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30 p.m. at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field … The Rebels then take to the road to open Southeastern Conference play at No. 22 Kentucky.
