HCC’s Horatio Williams to sign with LSU track

Raymond, Miss. – Horatio Williams of Oxford, a standout in men’s track and field at Hinds Community College, will sign with the Louisiana State University Tigers in the Spring 2010 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) signing period.

The Oxford High School graduate will enroll in summer classes at LSU and will run in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes for the Tigers track team, which is a powerhouse in Division I track and field.

Williams claimed a national championship while at Hinds as a member of the 4×100 meter team that ran the event in 39.06 seconds at the 2009 Outdoor Nationals in Hutchinson, Kan.

His personal best times in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash are 10.26 seconds and 20.48 seconds, respectively.
